Geocaching+Digital Photography+Maps

Billion Dollar Satellite Technology + Awesomeness = Geocaching.
Geocaching is a treasure hunting sport using GPS units.
Geocaches are nearly everywhere.
Many are very creative
If you live in the part of the country or world that forces you indoors during the winter Geocaching can be a nice way to get out in the spring for family recreation.
Or avoiding becoming Jack Nicholson in The Shining. Just saying….
Digital photography is a great companion to geocaching because you are already outdoors anyway. Why not take a long an inexpensive camera or two the kids can share to snap pics and enjoy later? Good time to introduce them to nature photography. A good way to manage all these pictures is to use Google’s Picasa. It is free, easy to use, and manages thousands of digital photos flawlessly.
A third technology, Google Maps, can allow you to keep track of your geocaches. Picasa will also work with Google Maps to geotag the pictures you take for extra nerdy goodness.
If you do this shoot me a pic!
